Configure Smartgit

Once Smartgit is installed you will need to configure it.

Start it and select non-commercial use. For username and email use any you want (preferably the NPS email), this will be used to uniquely identify your work.

Leave all the other options as they are by default.

Authenticate with Gitlab using ssh keys

To help connect with Gitlab it is useful to generate and share ssh keys. Follow this guide to generate an ssh key and add it to your user profile.
